ETHON was founded in 1976 when five brothers, with 200.000 liras lent by their father and with their extensive knowledge of wood processing, bought the land and started business.
This was a period of great expansion for the timber industry, and the ample potential and expertise of the Zanon brothers was immediately noticed.
As the amount of orders gradually increases, the company invests in new technologies. Where there is no availability of proper machinery, the mechanical genius of the five brothers intervenes: they design and make the machinery themselves to solve otherwise insurmountable mass production problems.
Nowadays the second generation is taking the place of the first one, bringing fresh vitality and brand-new enthusiasm to further expand the offer and the reference market.
It’s no longer enough to supply at competitive prices or guarantee high-quality products; it’s mandatory to offer new design skills to the customer and to help them in the development of the production. Furthermore, a befitting after-sales assistance service is essential to guarantee the perfect integration of ETHON products in the supply chain.
A lively material such as wood wouldn’t reach proper stability without an accurate and patient seasoning of the timber in the Company’s yard and without the following kilning process, both in traditional and vacuum ovens in order to reach the optimum moisture level.
This is the keystone for a product that will preserve its original characteristics over time; this is unique to ETHON and is recognized worldwide.
After drying, the timber is placed in our warehouse in dedicated air-conditioned zones controlled for both humidity and temperature.
These conditions are necessary to stabilize the timber before further processing.
Our great attention to the performance of the machinery is demonstrated by the internal laboratory that provides constant and precise maintenance as well as rapid tooling.
With an efficient production planning, resulting from a 45-years’ experience, allows us to always respond promptly to every order request, even from large quantities.
ETHON’s production potential is remarkably flexible.
This is another essential step in ETHON’s quality standards; the ever-vigilant eye of largely female workers catches those small details that would become flaws in the finished product.
A high-efficiency system allows the recycling of timber processing waste, which maintains the constant air-conditioning of ETHON’s manufacturing plant.
